Elaborative Interrogation: Ask Why, Not What

Subtitle: Turn facts into reasons you can rebuild

Left column - REHEARSAL (What?):

Reread and restate the wording Answers "what does it say?" Facts stay separate and loose Feels smooth and quick Gone once the wording fades

Right column - INTERROGATION (Why?):

Ask "why is this true?" per fact Answer aloud in your own words Links the fact to what you know Feels slow and effortful Rebuilt later from the reason

Simple difference:

Rehearsal = store the sentence Interrogation = store the reason

Use it when - REHEARSAL: names, dates, vocab, raw lists

Use it when - INTERROGATION: rules, models, causes, tradeoffs

Sticky note - Common beginner mistake:

Asking why once and taking a vague answer. Push until you reach a cause you could teach to someone else.
